I highly recommend Curb Your Enthusiasm Complete Seasons 1-3, which contains countless episodes of this highly amusing and cleverly written comedy. Although it has been shown on terrestrial telly here in England, I wasn't able to follow it properly. It is always aired at weird times like late on Sunday nights, and my friends who did watch it have stopped because Channel 4 keeps on repeating the first series.
Anyway, I have found it to be more enjoyable to watch on DVD. The humour of this show being rather dry and understated, it operates in a cumulative fashion, kind of creeping up on you and becomes funnier and more painful if you watch a few episodes in a sitting.
Curb Your Enthusiasm stars Larry David as himself, as he bumbles around in the world being overly frank, somewhat paranoid and at times, extremely gauche. He ponders mysterious matters such as the unspoken rules of etiquette, what is the cut-off time at which it becomes too late to phone somebody, how can you avoid attending a party that you don’t want to go to? He resents having to bow to social conventions and tries to assert himself with some awkwardly hilarious results.
