Jean Paul Gaultier - Le Male

I bought my husband Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male perfume for christmas one year, simply because of the bottle. I love the shape of it, it is incredibly sexy and it looks awesome on the shelf. I know thats a pretty poor reason to buy a perfume but I think packaging is important.

I also love the tin it comes in, almost like a bigger baked bean tin! The whole design is so simple, but it works. I haven't yet come across a perfume that appeals to me just by the look that has worked in the same way that Jean Paul Gaultier has.

Once I had smelt Le Male perfume, on one of those little tester things that the shop supplies, I was completely taken by it. It's warm and sexy and matches the bottle that it comes in, if that makes sense? It's not an overpowering fragrance, it seems to hang just right, not too heavy but not so light that it fades away very quickly. It also lasts for a while as well, unlike some that men have to reapply every now and again, a couple of squirts of this and it lasts all day.

My husband only really wears this when he goes out in the evenings, or we go to dinner. Special occasions, as such. Personally, though, I think Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male is a fragrance that can be worn all day, no matter what season, what time of day or what occasion.

I have been walking through the high street and smelt this on a person walking by, and it is a smell that is instantly recognised. By me and my husband anyway! I always find myself sniffing really hard when a man walks past and he is wearing this, I think it's one of those smells that makes a man seem attractive even if he isn't physically!

It makes a change for me and my husband to agree on a fragrance. He likes really strong, fruity ones, whereas I prefer more subtle, musky ones. This fragrance has a mixture of the two. It has staying power without giving me a headache, and also smells wintry in the winter and summery in the summer. It really is an all round fragrance.

Personally, I think that Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male fragrance should be on every man's shelf. Not only because it looks good, but because it smells delicious as well. It is great value for money. Although it is more expensive than some fragrances, it has the staying power to allow for that extra couple of pounds, and with the packaging you get, I think you get what you pay for.

I'm glad I introduced my husband to this fragrance, simply because it is one we agree on! I have the female version as well, which I love, so we very often go out in matching smells, which makes us feel like more of a couple!
