10TH KINGDOM

Having originally watched the 10th Kingdom on Sky One when it was first shown several years ago I was immediately hooked by the gorgeous scenery, the fantastic plot, excellent acting and the witty dialogue.

I paid almost thirty pounds for the series on DVD and wasn't disappointed, though to find it at under ten pounds is rather annoying for me but for anyone who hasn't bought it I say "buy it now!".

The 10th Kingdom is a magical fairy tale about a girl, her father, a prince in the body of a dog and a rather gorgeous half wolf all trying to save the nine kingdoms from the prince's evil step mother who gained power from the woman who originally tried to kill Snow White. Yes, it's that kind of fairy tale! There are guest appearances from Snow White and Cinderella, talking mice aid in dungeon escapes and promiscuous sheep herders nearly lead to Wolf being burned alive.

Virginia just wants to open up her own little cafe, maybe marry a chef and little quietly ever after. When she runs over Prince Wendell who has been transformed into a dog she finds herself dragged into an adventure she wants nothing to do with. Finding herself in a land of make believe and unable to get home she is at first unwilling to help Prince Wendell who only her father can understand but soon becomes embroiled in the struggle when she finds out who the wicked step mother really is.

Words cannot truly explain how magical this series is. So cast your mind back to when you were young and truly believed in Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, when you believed in Happily Ever After and prayed for a magical adventure to happen to you where you could meet your handsome prince or princess and defeat wicked witches. This series can help you achieve your wishes as you watch Virginia's fight to get home. You can find yourself in a new world, the ultimate form of escapism and one series you can watch with the entire family without worrying about extreme violence or language.
