Duffy is one of many new emerging young female artists who are exploding into the charts. Currently at number one in the UK with her first single 'Mercy', her much anticipated album will soon be released in early March entitled 'Rockferry'.

Hailing from the Welsh Valleys, Duffy is just 23 years old but possesses a voice much more mature than her age. Many have likened her voice and sound to the likes of Dusty Springfield whom she lists as one of her many influences, and is seeming to be a favourite on the airwaves. While growing up, Duffy was unaware of the music charts or what was going on in the music scene as in her family home there was no record collection for her to listen too. This isolation has resulted in a classic mix of electric big band sounds tied up with a brassy voice and heartfelt lyrics, unaffected by 'what should and shouldn't be' in the music world.
'Rockferry' took 3 years in the making, along with the helping hand of Jeanette Lee as her manager and a small team of writers and producers, Duffy was able to create an album of her own which she can proudly show her family back home.
